6.1.2 Non-Government publications. Copies of ASTM D412 “Standard Test Methods for Rubber Properties in Tension"; ASTM D624 “Standard Test Methods for Rubber Property-Tear Resistance"; and ASTM E90 "Standard Test Method for Laboratory Measurements of Airborne Sound Transmission Loss of Building Partitions” are available from the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), 1916 Race Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103. SAE J369 "Flammability of Polymetric Interior Materials" are available from www.astm.org or ASTM International, P.O. Box C700, West Conshohocken, PA 19428-2959.
6.2 Ordering data. Acquisition documents must specify the following:
a. Title, number, and date of this CID.
b. Specific issue of individual documents referenced (see 6.1).
c. Title, number, and revision letter of the applicable engineering drawing and part number (see 2.2 and 2.6).
d. Identify activities requiring copies of completed MSDS and the number of copies required (see 2.5 and 6.5).
e. Applicable levels of preservation, packaging, packing, labeling and marking (see 5).
6.3 Cross-reference data. Insulation conforming to this CID is interchangeable/ substitutable with insulation conforming to MIL-I-62520(AT).
6.4 MSDS. The contracting officer should identify those activities requiring copies of the completed MSDS prepared in accordance with FED-STD-313. Additional pertinent Government mailing addresses for submission of data are listed in appendix B of FED-STD-313 (see 2.5 and 6.2).
6.5 Metric product. Insulation manufactured to metric dimensions will be considered on the following basis:
a. Products manufactured to metric dimensions will be considered on an equal basis with those manufactured using inch-pound units, provided they fall within specified tolerances using conversion tables contained in the latest revision of FED-STD-376, and all other requirements of this CID are met.
b. If a product is manufactured to metric dimensions and those dimensions exceed the tolerances specified in the inch/pound units, a request should be made to the contracting officer to determine if the product is acceptable.
c. The contracting officer has the option of accepting or rejecting the product
