TABLE I. Noise barrier material.

Characteristic	Requirement
Weight	0.8 pounds per square foot (lb/ft²) + 10% loaded plastic having a density of 2.5 pounds per cubic foot (lb/ft³).
Tensile strength	120 pounds force per square inch (psi) minimum in accordance with ASTM D412, die A.
Tear strength	20 pounds force per inch (lb/in) minimum in accordance with ASTM D412, die C.

3. Thermal foam barrier. The thermal foam barrier material shall be made of urethane foam and shall conform to table II.

Thermal conductivity	0.30 (Btu)/[(hour) (square ft (ft²)) (�F/in)] maximum, in conformance with ASTM C177.
Density	2.000 + 0.2 (lb/ft³) in accordance with ASTM D297.
Tensile strength	15 pounds per square inch (psi) minimum in accordance with ASTM D3574, die A.
Elongation	200 percent minimum, in accordance with ASTM D412.
Compression set	10 percent maximum at 70 + 5�F in accordance with ASTM D3574

4. Insulation composite material. The insulation composite material shall conform to table III.

Flammability	3 inch/minute maximum in accordance with SAE J369.
